This little toddler was a little shy when she first came to the Sweet Pea Photo & Design studio but as soon as some dance music was put on, Ophelia’s smiles came out & the dancing began! She had lots of cute outfits to strut in & her eyes were mesmerizing. What a wonderful way to spend the morning!

They’re Baaaack! Maternity Family Portrait Photographer

A few years ago when I first opened my studio, I bought this beautiful green antique chair from Krista & Neil. They had it listed on Kijiji & when I inquired about it, they graciously offered to deliver it to me (even though they lived in Kemptville). When they came by, I soon discovered that Krista was pregnant with her first child. I offered them a maternity session and the rest is history! A few of their images still remain on the Sweet Pea Photo & Design website because they are still favourites of mine. Now they have come back for their 3rd session (second maternity session) with their first born son, Nolan, and another baby boy on the way! Seeing Nolan again was quite a kick! I can’t believe how he has grown. Making connections with clients and watching their families grow makes my job so worthwhile.

Pregnant with her 3rd child, Christiane looked stunning during our maternity portrait session. She came all the way from Wakefield and was a little nervous about her portrait session. I’m always up for a challenge when a client claims they are not photogenic! I think I changed her mind…

Little Avery — Newborn Portrait Session

Had a wonderful newborn session with Lee & Jeff and their little princess Avery. This little pea gave me a million different expressions and then slept peacefully like a little angel when I needed her to. Mom came ready with her incredible smile and Dad came ready with a freshly pressed black shirt (with lint roller in hand — very impressive – I think ALL men should have at least one black dress shirt, right gals?). What an incredibly photogenic family!

WHOA!! Somebody’s waaaaaaaaaaaay behind on her blog! Ooooopsie! Let’s rectify the situation…..

Anyhoo… Here is a quickie from a recent newborn session featuring two little men that are near & dear to my heart: my nephews. The oldest, Eric, is 2 yrs old and 2 yr olds are notoriously hard to photograph (the call it the terrible 2′s for a reason!). But I guess this little man is an enigma! Good job buddy! xo

Last week, while attending the annual Inferno photography seminar in Toronto, I was awarded with the overall Grand Prize in the print competition. My winning portrait was a black & white Retro Pin-Up! This was a HUGE honour for me and quite a thrill! Woohoo! CHEERS!!!

Baby Clare’s Newborn Session

Little Miss Clare was a mere 9 days of age when she came to our studio for her first professional photoshoot. She was the most alert newborn I have ever seen and boy did she have a ravenous appetite! She did not want to sleep for more than a minute or so at a time because all she wanted was to be with her Momma & have some milk. This spiky haired blond cutiepie gave in at the end and we captured many beautiful images.
